Israeli Professor Moshe Landsman, cofounder of the Psychological Department at Pristina University “Hasan Pristina”, has died at the age of 75 on Wednesday.
His death was announced by the Kosovar Centre for the Rehabilitation of Torture Victims. After the war, in addition to contributing to the field of psychology, Professor Landsman came to Kosovo and helped survivors of sexual violence.
With deep sorrow we received news of the loss of Prof. Moshe Landsman. A figure that exceeded the role of professor and teacher, thus becoming a picture of the emblems that has supported, supported, and encouraged others. A few days ago he was among us, in the environments of the CRC, accompanied by his serenity and depth. For many years, we as QKRMT had close cooperation with the Prof. Age. He is leaving seems to be leaving deep traces, not only in the field of knowledge and learning, but also in promoting and encouraging new talents towards professional, social and state-level success for Kosovo. Prof. Moshe was a living model of humanity, humility, and philanthropy. Death often seems unfaithful and surprised, but it is basically chaste and adds to the love of those who remain alive. We will continue to recognise his contribution and remember him with love”, says the announcement of this centre.
Last year, the Ministry of Education praised Landsman for his extraordinary contribution to the development of education in Kosovo, with particular emphasis on the field of psychology.
Landsman has left behind a valuable career as Israeli professor and psychologist since the 1970s, while his relationship with Kosovo dates back to the post-war when he first came to help survivors of sexual violence during the war.
At the University of Pristina's Psychological Department, the first post-war in Kosovo, Landsman has been a professor for many years and has left clues to the graduation of many generations of psychology students.
