The European Union's Emisari for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has said that with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq in Belgrade, they have also focused on talking about the current political situation in the dialogue.

Lajcak wrote in “X” that with Vuciqi they talked about the next steps in normalising Kosovo-Serbia relations.

“Upon arrival in Belgrade this morning, I met with President Aleksandar Vuciq. In our discussion, we focused on the strategic perspective for 2024, made a balance on the current situation in dialogue and talked about future steps in normalising relations with Kosovo”, Lajcak wrote.

Vuciq previously praised the meeting as constructive and very correct.

“I noted the necessity for forming the Association of Serb majority municipalities, for holding local elections in northern Kosovo, and requested EU support in preventing further provocations coming from Pristina. I reaffirmed the willingness of the Republic of Serbia to fulfil its obligations, in line with international legal agreements, by respecting the Constitution of Republika Srpska and the UN Charter”, Vucic wrote.
