Konjufca in France: Kosovo defends international standards dedicated to road to KiEʹ

A Kosovo delegation led by Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca is staying in Strasbourg, France, to contribute to Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe (KiE).
According to a Kosovo Assembly communique, among the key meetings the delegation has attended was also the discussion on the Political Affairs and Democracy Committee, where Konjufca reportedly presented Kosovo's case for membership.
Our application for membership dates back to 2022. Kosovo has worked for 16 years with key instruments of the Council of Europe and is already a full member of the Venice Commission and the Bank for Development of the Council of Europe”, Konjufca was quoted as saying.
According to the communiqué, he has added that since 2008 Kosovo has given a constitutional rank and directly implemented the European Convention on Human Rights, the Framework Convention for Mines, and, since 2020, even the Istanbul Convention.
We continue to maintain commitment to protect international standards and promote human rights. Kosovo's path towards membership in the Council of Europe is marked by commitment and progress. I assess continued support and recognition by the European community”, Konjufca was quoted.
Part of this delegation are Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (APKE), MPs Arben Gashi, Enis Kervan, Arjana Musliu-Soushi and Besniki, and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Diaspores Kressnik Ahmeti.
“Under the stay in Strasbourg, the delegation met with important personalities from various political groups, including Béatrice Fresko-Rolfo, Kosovo Rapporteur on the Committee for Equality and Disdiscrimination, France's National Delegation, Group A Chairman. LDE, Iulian Bulai, as well as deputies and permanent representatives of member states”, is said in the communique, adding that the delegation will hold other meetings.
