The lawyer of the mass Norwegian killer, Anders Behring Breivik, told the court on Monday that he is suffering from “deep depression” and no longer wants to live and demanded that he leave his prison isolation.

The extreme right-wing fanate killed 77 people during a violent bombing and shooting in 2011 has indicted the state, arguing that prison conditions violate its human rights.

Breivik entered the courtroom for Monday's hearing accompanied by three security guards. He said nothing and sat down until his team cleared the case.

“He has been kept isolated for 12 years... he lives in a completely shut-down world”, his lawyer, Oystein Storrvik, said before the court.

“He does not wish to live on”, Storrvik added. In an incident in 2018, Breivik wrote on the wall of his cell “M Um... V LININ” using its own shit, the lawyer said.

Breivik killed eight people with a car bomb in Oslo, then 69 others with firearms, most of whom were teenagers, in a Labusist Party youth camp on July 22nd 2011.

This is the worst crime in the history of Norway's peaceful time.

Lawyers representing the justice ministry say Breivik should be kept isolated from the rest of the prisoners, because it continues to be a constant threat to security.

“For an extremely dangerous prisoner, extraordinary measures must be needed”, lawyer Andreas Heveland said in court Monday.

He's still proud of what he did. He still maintains the same ideological positions”, he added.

Breivik shook his head in defiance.

Breivik is serving a 21-year prison sentence -- the severest sentence a Norwegian court can impose -- which can last as long as it is described as a threat to society.
