A 76-year-old woman and her son were killed in a village in northern Israel by a rocket thrown by Lebanon on Sunday, Israeli officials announced.

This attack occurred just hours after the Israeli army said it killed four heavily armed militants who were trying to sneak into Israel from Lebanon.

Wars between Israel and Iran's Iranian-backed Lebanese movement, Hezbollah, have increased in parallel with Israel's over quarterly fight against Hamas in Gaza, another group backed by Iran.

Hamas has been declared a terrorist organisation by the United States and the European Union.

Anti-tank rocket thrown at Kfar Yuval, an agricultural village on the border with Lebanon, fell on a house, killing her 40-year-old mother and son, the Israeli army said.

A 74-year-old man was injured, according to a medical official, who described him as members of the same farm families.

The Israeli army said its forces are hitting Hezbollah's targets in Lebanon as a sign of revenge.

On Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyah said that Israel would continue its war against Hamas until it triumphs, and will not be stopped by anyone.

Netanyah spoke after the International Court of Justice at The Hague held two hearings about South Africa's allegations that Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians.

Israel has denied these accusations, calling them hypocritical and slandering.

South Africa has asked the court to order Israel to stop its air and land offensive, which has ravaged Gaza.

No one will stop us, neither The Hague, nor the axis of evil nor anyone else”, Netanyah said, referring to Iran and its Allied militia.

Sunday marks 100 days of fighting in Gaza.

Israel is facing great international pressure to stop the war, which has killed more than 23,000 Palestinians in Gaza and has caused great suffering in the besieged enclave.

The war was sparked by a deadly attack on October 7, during which members of Hamas and other militants killed some 1,200 people in Israel, mainly civilians. More than 250 people were taken hostage, and until some have been released or died, more than half are believed to be still being held captive. / REL
