International doctors and journalists say Israeli forces are moving towards the largest hospital in Khan Yunis, which means patients and those who sought refuge inside the hospital should leave.
Tens of people with blankets and mattresses leave the Al Nasser hospital complex in the south of Gaza, broadcast Telegragraphy.
American doctor Thaer Ahmad, from a team of American and British doctors from the NGO MedGlobal working at the hospital, told CNN that the Israeli army is approaching.
“The hospital is trembling and panicking”, the American doctor said in an audio message sent CNN from Al Nasser Hospital, where the sound of weapons was heard in the background.
Earlier, the Israeli Army said Hamas had recently carried out an attack on Israel, claiming the attack was carried out from within the hospital's proximity.
Israel has repeatedly accused Hamas of exploiting civilians as human shields using hospitals and surrounding areas as military locations.
Earlier, Israel's Defence Minister said the intensive phase of his military offensive in Gaza would be completed soon.
