Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has rejected JND's decisions that Israel do more to ensure the prevention of any act that might be considered genocide.
The state of Israel has no need to give moral lessons to distinguish between terrorists and the civilian population in Gaza”, he wrote in the social media, calling the South Africa indictment “antismetic”.
“IDF and security agencies will continue to operate to dismantle the terrorist Hamas' military and governing capabilities and return hostages to their homes. I have full confidence in our body”, he said, writes BBC, broadcast Express.
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz also said in the social media that his country was committed to international law and that there was a “independent of any JND procedure”, as was Israel's “right to defend itself”.
After the JND ruling, he told Israel's legal team: “You represented Israel and the Jewish people with honor. You made us proud”
