Kosovo police have reported three cases of counterfeiting money. Bank officials have claimed hundreds of euros allegedly forged through ATMs have been deposited.
One case occurred in Pristina. A money management official at the bank has delivered 3 grand and 676 bank notes and metal coins allegedly forged. According to him, they are deposited by local companies and an unknown person.
“I Pristina, 12,12,23,22,12,2023. With 12.01.2024, the official Kosovo male bank management complainer has handed over $376 bank notes and metal coins allegedly forged. According to complainers, the same ones have been deposited in the bank by several local companies and an unknown person. The case remains under investigation”, the report says.
Another similar case has occurred at a bank in Fushe Kosovo.
“Rr. Mother Teresa-Fush Kosovo 13,11,23-10.01.2024. With 12,01.2024 Kosovo's female cashan complainer at the bank, it has declared that a total of 532 metal coins, allegedly forged. The coins have been seized and the case remains under investigation”, police have announced.
The next case happened in Gjilan.
“Rr. Esat Berisha, Gjilan 12,01.2024-1500. Kosovo's female bank cash complainer has stated that a total of 700m of them are suspected to be counterfeited at the bank's ATM. Coins have been seized and the case remains under investigation”, the report said.
