Justice Department co-ordinator in the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Gruda, in an interview for Online Economy, has said that with the approach of general elections, the government is frequenting charges and attacks on the Constitutional Court, independent institutions and the opposition.
He said the government is doing so with the sole purpose because it wants to build a new alibi to use in the elections, since this government has failed to fulfill its promises.
Gruda, citing promises that have not been fulfilled, said the government has not kept its promise either of genocide charges against Serbia or, according to him, with the Ohrid Agreement, Prime Minister Albin Kurti has agreed not to address war crimes.
The longer the election date approaches, the charges and attacks on the Constitutional Court, independent institutions, the opposition will grow with the sole intention of building the new alibi you need in elections, which have not fulfilled the promises. Vettingou, reform in the Prosecutorial Council, has not been adopted, anti-corruption strategy has not been adopted. These have also promised charges of genocide against Serbia, not that they have filed no indictments but have made agreements, with Ohrid's prime minister Kurti making him the one in which Kosovo deals with Serbia over the past, so not to address war crimes”, he has said.
Gruda has said that many laws that have been drafted by this government have been drafted in a non-religious way.
According to him, The PDK has submitted close to six laws to the Constitutional Court, and 90 per cent of them have been confirmed as non-religious.
“The PDK during this term has sent a large number of laws five or six, I don't remember correctly, but I can say 90 percent of them are confirmed as constitutional. So they have been confirmed for democratic party decisions and laws have been dropped in the Constitutional Court due to the fact that the government has drafted and prepared them in a non-religious manner and that it is something that didn't happen before”, he said.
Gruda over statements that the opposition is making obstacles to reform in justice”, said they are absurd accusations by the current government in order to cover failures in the field of justice.
He has added that international mechanisms have also stressed that the government has intervened in justice with statements it has made.
I think it's a totally unstable accusation totally absurd and it's only in order to hide the complete failures this government has had in the field of justice. None of the promises given to justice have been fulfilled and blamed on the Constitutional Court, The PDK wants to be acquitted for laws”.
Europe's Council of Experts report has said that the government has intervened with statements in justice, so international mechanisms show we have to do with an inability to build laws. In this sense this clearly testifies that the government's charges against the Constitutional Court do not stand at”, Gruda has said.
