The German “Bundesheri” through a media report have indicated that as a result of the worsening security situation in Kosovo, Germany will increase the number of its forces in Kosovo under KFOR. This German infantry contingent will land in Kosovo in the spring.
“Bundesheri makes an important contribution to Kosovo's stability and security through KFOR. Germany is the first state to boost commitment by sending additional infantry forces”, Bundecher's announcement said.
Out of 80 German soldiers currently in Kosovo under KFOR, their number will run to 300 along with support staff.
German General Bernd Schutt has spoken of the issue, saying additional German troops will land in Kosovo in the spring.
We're sending an additional infantry company into action,” Lieutenant General Schutt said.
Giving details about the additional forces coming to Kosovo, Schut has said they will do patrols, security tasks and if de-progression is necessary in case of riots and protests, Express writes.
Their task portfolio includes patrols, security tasks and, if necessary, de-perceleration during protests and riots,” explained Lieutenant General Schüt.
Bundesher reports that the addition of German troops to Kosovo at KFOR headquarters has been well received.
