The European Union has called on Kosovo to find the solution to the issue of the use of the Serbian dinar in Kosovo, which according to a Kosovo Central Bank regulation on February 1st, this currency is prohibited on the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, Kosovo reports.

We call for an appropriate period of transition that allows for finding a negotiated solution on this specific matter”, EU foreign policy spokesman Peter Stano said during a conference Monday in Brussels, Klan Kosova reports.

Otherwise, the dinar issue is expected to be the lead of discussions that will take place in Belgrade on Monday and Tuesday in Pristina, the EU special representative for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue Miroslav Lajcak
