In his address, Rama said that very soon the teachers' salary would go towards an average of 950 euros.
“Albania today has a new gateway to its economic future, and the reflection of this fact is also significant wage increases that will continue, but while we today are in conditions that we can put much more than yesterday, the potential of our country available to the Albanian economy and families. We face the need that the liberation of this potential puts before all of us, the need for human capital, for qualified people and the need for labor at all levels. Salaries will soon go for teachers on average 950 euros, but it's not enough, so we need to reform the” system, he said.
Rama added further that the “mechanism of growth every 5 years due to age in work, we must fully reform”.
The prime minister also stressed that besides uniform wages, teachers should have different salary levels based on their merits and contributions.
“We should make it possible that besides uniform wages, the basic guarantee for all to have different wage levels on merit, contributions and qualifications. We need a reliable system of qualifications, training and credit”, Rama said in front of those present.
