Before elections in the European Parliament, to be held in June, there is expected to be an intensive phase in terms of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue. Analysts in Kosovo hope that political changes in the EU will not affect the processes Kosovo is going through, until they stress that it is good for the dialogue to end in the first quarter of this year.

International factor is continuing to insist that Kosovo- Serbia towards normalisation have a pre-election outcome in the European Union, to be held in June of this year. And political analyst Artan Muhhaxhiri tells Radio Kosovo that it is good to finish dialogue between the two countries as soon as possible so that political changes in the EU after elections there do not affect the dialogue process.

If in the upcoming European Union elections the right-wing extremists win the most votes, then they will increase the unpredictable in relation to the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue. Therefore, the sooner the dialogue ends, the more inevitable these problems will become, so they will not be able to influence the political changes in the” dialogue process, Mujariri said.

While political analyst Arta Tahiri-Beqa says it is still not known who the winners can be in the European Parliament elections. However, according to her, Kosovo must make political calculations, to understand what Kosovo's position will be even after elections in the EU and the US.

With the changing political acts of the European Union or even the US, it is precisely that fear of a non-profit position in which Kosovo can often be seen. There may be different approaches to it so far, there can be also positive, because we cannot always suspect only from the negative direction. But there is also the risk that could be the other extreme, where there can be positive access to Kosovo. This, then, is the political calculations that Kosovo must think carefully and understand what the political scenes are, which are currently moving to European Union institutions, to see in advance what Kosovo's position may be after these elections”, Tahiri-Beqa told Radio Kosovo.

Even the rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Violet von Cremon, earlier urged the leadership in Kosovo to make progress in the dialogue with Serbia, including forming the Association of Serb-run municipalities before the European bloc holds elections on June 9th. She has expressed concern for the support Kosovo may have in the European Parliament after the elections there. She said polls have shown an increase in Europe by rightist, separate rightist parties.

“I think that if we delay the process we may have problems because we have elections in the EU in the summer and then some individuals who don't support Kosovo very much and I'm worried that at the end of the day nobody cares about dialogue”, Von Croamon said.
