Pristina, January 6, 2024
Kosovo police, based on information that consistently provides from all Border Cross Points, notes that a greater concentration of vehicles and people leaving the Republic of Kosovo is at the Border Cross in Merdar, where expectations and columns are quite long.
Kosovo police, according to its planning, have in time taken the necessary measures by employing sufficient personnel in order to accelerate and facilitate the border flow.
Despite the commitment of sufficient personnel and working with several lanes to the exit of the RKS, expectations are of great lengths of up to 7 hours, due to procedures, small capacities and slow working of the Serbian eye.
Kosovo police have also addressed this concern in international mechanisms, where they have called for capacity to grow and work on the Serbian side to be accelerated in order to avoid long expectations and enable our citizens to cross the border faster.
At the same time, we encourage all those who use Border Crosses, in this period of entry from the Republic of Kosovo to use alternatives (other border points), where the flow is smaller, in order to avoid expectations and evental columns.
