Car racing is killing young people in Kosovo, four dead for a month

Illegal car racing on the streets of Kosovo has turned into serious concern.

Within a month, two fatal accidents have been caused by illegal car races.

The last case was in Gjilan. On January 25th, following a traffic accident that occurred in Miresh Minor of Gjilan, a 28-year-old has remained dead.

Regarding the case, the Constitutional Prosecutor in Gjilan has announced that three suspected persons, with initials F, have been detained. A, BA and L.M.

According to the prosecution, there is suspicion that two of the suspects were running races with the deceased, writes Democracy.com.

The same, along with a third person, is suspected of not helping the victim, leaving the scene.

On December 16, 2023, on the “brahim Rugova” highway, until two young people were racing by car, one car came out of control and hit six people watching them, where 3 of them were left dead.

As a result, there were dead Lord Syla, Molos Delia and Nue Bibai.

Despite tragic cases, illegal car races are continuing in the country. Police have appealed to drivers of vehicles to respect signs and communications rules, as such actions directly endanger their lives and other communications participants, inviting citizens to cooperate with the police.
