BQK reports voluntary closure of KOmercijalna Bankaão, which has operated with eight branches in Kosovo

Through a BQK announcement, it is said that “this action results from the supervisory dialogue in the August-September 2023 period, which resulted in a Volunteering License Plan”.
This plan after review received the CEC's consent with the 6th of October 2023, to conclude later with the decision of January 9th, 2024, to closing branches and all sub-debs in the Republic of Kosovo, effective from January 31st 2024, the CEC has announced.
Komercijalna AD Belgrade Banka Branch in Mitrovica was licensed by the CEC for operation in 2007 and operated with the branch in Mitrovica and eight sub-deges on Kosovo territory.
After spending the previous deadline for citizens' banking operations, with the end of the day of January 31st, 2024, all bank deposits to citizens have been closed, so the CEC finds the end of this bank branch in Kosovo. Other documentation and related aspects procedures are implemented in accordance with the legislation in power”.
“BQK thanks the banking group NLB for co-operation and constructiveity shown in facilitating procedures for this agreed-on and voluntary conclusion of banking activity with clients, in respect of domestic laws and best practices, and within the agreed terms. According to BEC estimates, currently sufficient numbers of banking offices, financial and non-bank institutions covering the community's needs in all cities are operating. In addition to banking and non-bank offices with physical presence, electronic/Digial service channels are available and offer competitive products”.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo engages in increased access to finance for all social categories and all the territory of the state, so it encourages all licensed financial institutions to increase their presence with physical branches and electronic equipment in order to offer access as fully and competitive as possible to all our citizens”, the BQK report said.
