US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, at his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, told him that Israel must avoid harming civilians in Gaza until it gave American support “for Israel's right to defend itself”.
The White House says the pair spoke in the Israeli war cabinet at Tel Aviv and that Blinken “recaptured” US support for the “Israel's right to prevent terrorist attacks” but also stressed the importance of “mangies of further civil damage and civil infrastructure protection” in Gaza.
Met with @Israel PM And confirmed our support for Israel.
I also stressed the importation of accessing civilianism, protesting civil infrastructure, and insulating the distribution of humanities through Gaza. Pic.twitter. com/1g7h27Ci8f

Netanyahu and Blinken discussed efforts to ensure the release of all remaining hostages and the sending of humanitarian aid to Gaza, spokesman Matthew Miller said.
“Secretary reiterated the need to ensure lasting peace for Israel and the region, including the realisation of a Palestinian state”, Miller adds.
