Bild: Is Putin planning the next war in Kosovo?

Will Putin soon start the next war in Europe? With this question is launched by the popular German newspaper Bild, an article on a possible war in the Balkans. Balkan experts warn of developments in Serbia under President Aleksandar Vuciq.

“Putin will create a second battle field on European soil before European elections in the Balkans” with the help of the Serbian president, European activist Katie Schneeberger quoted. Bild controls the crisis with Serbian expert Jakov Devciq, head of Serbia/Montenegro's foreign office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, linked to the CDU.

September 2022. Clear signal: In the UN General Assembly margins, the foreign ministers of Serbia and Russia sign an agreement on future co-operation six months after Russia's attack on Ukraine. And: Serbia is still not participating in EU sanctions against Russia.

May 2023: Aleksandar Vulin (former intelligence chief) and Ivica Dacic (Foreign Minister) represent Serbia at the security conference in Moscow.

Devciq said: “has clear pro-Russian currents in the Serbian political landscape. Both former intelligence chief Vulin and Dacic represent pro-Russian positions. Moscow is aware of how to irritate the West politically”.

While Vulin and Dacic are in Moscow, there are serious riots between KFOR soldiers (NATO) and Kosovo Serbs in northern Kosovo. 30 soldiers from the Western alliance were injured.

September 2023: Tensions escalate when 30 heavily armed Serb paramilitaries attacked police officers in northern Kosovo. A Kosovo policeman is killed. Vucinq has deployed troops at the border more threatening than it has been for years!

Explosive: Milan Radojciq (Srpska List) takes responsibility for the attack, fled to Serbia, is arrested, but is released shortly later.

“Import is still running. Radojciqi was barred from leaving the country. It is important that the EU and the US continue to seek a comprehensive investigation into what has happened by the Serbian side”, Devciq said.

October 2023: Instead of going to the EU-Balkans summit, Vuciq travels to China and meets Putin there and signs a free trade agreement with China at the Mandall Road Summit.

A heated fight is the most impossible “”, Devciq said, because the “most of Serbs do not want to recognise the state of Kosovo in any form, but are also not willing to go to war for it”.

Conclusion: “The situation in the Western Balkans in general is very fragile. Without more Western presence and subsequently German in northern Kosovo, there will be no peace and security in the Western Balkans”, Devciq said.
