Republican Party in Serbia Chairman Nikola Sandulovic denied having committed criminal acts he is accused of.
He has warned that he will seek legal responsibility “for the torture he has experienced”, and that he will continue to work for reconciliation.
Serbian opposition Nikola Sandulovic, who is in home custody after being released from custody, said he was subjected to <x0-hour violence by BIA members”, due to which he suffered several serious injuries.
“They beat me, beat me, and threatened me and my family. This shows what kind of system we live in. I will not intervene and influence the investigation at any moment, but will demand full responsibility for what happened to me. If there is justice and if the prosecution in Serbia is independent, then my” will be revealed, he said.
Otherwise, BIA has denied that Sandulovici has been subjected to torture, claiming there has been no violation of freedoms and rights, as well as illegal use of physical force.
BIA's <x0).
And Belgrade's Second Public Foundation Prosecutor announced that the <x0-tests collected do not lead to the conclusion of the very convincing claims and clear indicators that abuse occurred in Sandulovici's case”.
After the ban, Sandulovic returned home in serious condition, while he says the right part of his body “was paralyzed”. Today he is healing and waiting for his case.
Sandulovic is accused of committing the criminal act of inciting hatred and national, racial and religious intolerance”. This, after social networks have announced that he has apologised for crimes against Albanians and has shown that he has placed flowers in the tomb of Yashari's family in Prekaz.
Since he has not yet been interviewed by the prosecution, Sandulovic says he will respond to the invitation to be able to respond to the charges.
What a crime it is to put flowers on a seven-year-old girl's grave where she is to blame, whoever her father is, what does this have to do with the girl. I did it as a man, father, husband, as leader of a party whose policy is peace and reconciliation in the region. I considered it a human and moral obligation to express respect and regret for killing an Albanian girl in this case, all children are innocent victims”, Sandulovic says.
While he believes this act has nothing to do with national and religious hatred, he stresses that the whole case is politically motivated. According to him, various legal teams, even lawyers from Great Britain, have found that “has no criminal act of inciting religious and national hatred”.
My “Rasti has become an international problem because it shows the essence and face of current political rule in Serbia. Under the constitution and the law, as the representative of a political structure, I have the right to think and political views. My policy is a policy of reconciliation in the region, a policy of progress”, Sandulovic points out.
For Nikola Sandulovic's case, the international community reacted. British Foreign Minister David Cameron spoke of Nikola Sandulovici's case in the British Parliament, Brussels said he is attending the case, while General Rapporteur of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PSSE) for political prisoners Suna Evarsdottir called on Serbian authorities to release arrested opposition politician Nikola Sandulovic.
Suna Evarsdottir indicated that “despite apparent injuries, Sandulovic was held in custody and charged with inciting national, racial or religious hatred”. It called on Serbian authorities to respect their obligations under the European Convention for Human Rights and conduct an investigation into serious charges that state “agents have abused Sandulovici”.
Sandulovic says he was released “under the international community's major pressure and on the basis of the Council of Europe's bid”.
I have been released, but I am not allowed to leave the territory of the Republic of Serbia. I have not yet issued a statement to the prosecutor, and I look forward to starting the court process in my case”, he said.
A portion of lawyers in Serbia estimated that the whole case shows the extent of human rights disrespect in criminal procedures in Serbia. Some nongovernmental organisations in Serbia, such as the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia and the Youth Initiative for Human Rights, demanded that <x0 be reported on charges of violence against Sandulovici”.
Sandulovic himself reports he will continue to demand that all circumstances of the <x0 violence he has experienced, arrest and crimes for which he is charged” be reversed.
The international community will follow this down to the end and should not allow this case to be deleted”, Sandulovic said.
