The International Monetary Fund (FMN) has warned that Artificial Intelligence (Al) will affect up to 40 percent of the world's jobs, especially those in more developed economies.

In a new report, the IMF has stressed that Al's consequences for society will be difficult to predict, but this technology is likely to exacerbate income inequality.

 

Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the IMF, said the world is “on the verge of a technological revolution that could increase productivity and income, but some could lose their livelihood as a result of”.

Although new workers may find it easier to adapt to the possibilities of Artificial Intelligence, older workers may struggle with those possibilities.

 

“in most scenarios, He is likely to exacerbate the overall inequality, a disturbing trend that politicians must deal with in an active way to prevent social tensions that bring technology”, Georgieva warned.

The United Kingdom is said to be one of the most prepared countries for the changes Al will bring, based on digital infrastructure and the education of its workforce.
