Ergon Gervalla is brother Donika Gervala.

Donika Grovalla is Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and has hired Donat Krasniqi as foreign adviser.

Donati, friend of the minister's brother, or brother of his brother's wife, has been employed in the minister's cabinet as foreign political adviser.

He never goes to work. Donat by profession is a musician, and there is no connection between politics and politics.

As Albanian Post has shown sources from within MPJ, Donati was not hired to give political advice, since he neither does politics, but for all other reasons.

As a musician, Donat needed to travel to the United States, where his brother lives. With MPJ employees' status and part of the minister's cabinet, he could easily be equipped with American visas with the ministry's recommendation.

That is why Donat was first hired.

Albanian Post has asked The MPJ for this violation, but is refusing to turn a back answer.

However, from an e-mail he has provided The AP, where the entire Gervailla cabinet is listed, also figures Donat Krasniqi as a foreign political adviser to among 25 totaling all the Gervala in the cabinet.

Of them, a total of 11 are the minister's advisers.

But the story with this snorkel family doesn't end here.

Long ago Gervala, with the recommendation of her brother's wife (Egzone), had also hired Donat's fiancée as well.

B.G., the musician's fiancée, was employed by Gervala as an executive assistant.

The situation becomes ridiculous when B. G, coming to the ministry through family ties, was fired.

Later it was understood that the reason for the departure was the fact that Donat Krasniqi had been separated from the B.G. and that since they no longer had family ties, Gervala saw reason to hold him back.

The AP hasn't even responded to “Krasniqi, at the attempt of the medium to communicate with him about “the work” at the ministry.

His employment as a consultant from Gervalla is a typical case of nepotism, said of Albanian Post, executive director from the non-governmental organisation for democratisation, anti-corruption and dignity “Get up!”, Arton Demhaya.

He adds that in addition to “nepotism”, the case is further packed when it is known what the Vetevendosje Movement itself was doing in the opposition over and over again with such cases.

The phenomenon of nepotisation/familyisation is not sanctions with laws, but politically constitutes one of the most serious violations because the essential precondition of meritocratic employment is undermined.

“There is no meritocracy at the moment you are familiar with a minister/Prime Minister/Moz1>, Demhasaj says.

This is not the first time Donika Gervala uses the ministry to provide for her family's needs.

On July 8, 2022, online media Democracy has published a document showing how Gervala had enabled her daughter Nora Schwarz to obtain certificates from the ministry.

She needed it because of her schooling in Germany, and Gervala had enabled her.

The certificate suggested that Nora Schwarz has completed a party at the ministry, which turned out not to be true.

The practice was never performed, but the certificate was received.

Sërvala São had denied the published document or the news, except that she had accused the media dealing with it.

War against nepotism in Kosovo

Civil society has repeatedly criticised the ruling party, Vetevendosje Movement, for employment on party or family grounds.

According to them, the ruling party's “threats -- Vetevendosje Movement -- on the fight against nepotism -- have been forgotten at the moment when officials of this party have sat in the seats of state institutions”.

Years of nepotism is criticised by civil society and international diplomats for narrowing public institutions and enterprises with party militants and relatives and family, without employment criteria.

Any political party that has taken power has employed citizens on the basis of family ties to institutions and leadership positions in social companies, without merit and educational qualifications.

Even in researching the United Nations Development Programme in Kosovo (UNDP), published in November 2021, respondents said that party ties are the most useful criteria for job security.

According to these reports, 73 percent of respondents believe that public - sector employment is not done on merit base, while about 26 percent believe that education allows for public sector employment.
