One of the Albanians raped by Montenegrin police, Klodian Meaj from the Postriba unit in Shkodra, has given a testimony to the event occurring yesterday.
Meaj has indicated they have had an Albanian flag in the mirror of the vehicle they were travelling with, and the main suspicions are that violation of them by Montenegrin citizens has come because of that flag.
We were sitting off the ferry and we took our car. We made our way to Montenegro's town of Herceg Novi without problems. There we stopped for a moment because we had a car problem. We just stopped a group of people from coming in and hit the vehicle they were in. We went outside because we didn't understand what was going on and hit us physically with no cause or reason. We were communicating very low inside the car and there was no cause, no provocation on our part. We just got out of the car and then they hit us. I have an Albanian flag in my vehicle in a mirror, it's a small flag. I don't know if that's why the vehicle is German and not Albanian license plates. We have given our statements to the Montenegrin police because there was no reason to violate us that way. We have received some treatments at a Montenegrin hospital, and after statements we have willingly come to Albania. I want to thank the Albanian state very much. I have a thank you to Interior Minister Taulant Balla, who has been very supportive. I also thank the Albanian Embassy in Montenegro, which has been supporting us at any moment, the Albanian police that came close and accompanied us, as well as the Shkodra Hospital for readiness. What we've been looking for is to whiteen the event and the authors to be placed before responsibility” -- he proves.
