Democratic Union for Integration Chairman Ali Ahmeti has talked about the meeting Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti had with leaders of Albanian opposition parties in Northern Macedonia, as well as the inclusion of the Vetevendosje Movement in the upcoming parliamentary elections there on May 8th.
Ahmeti said that if Kurti's Vetevendosje Movement plans to participate in the elections there, it should openly say that.
There is nothing wrong with the appointment. I've been with Kurt with my associates. Each leader sets some goals for action, but what Mexhit said does not coincide with Kurt's statement in Skopje, which said the Vetevendosje Movement does not participate in these elections. If there is a strategy to build things up, let things be said out loud and nothing prevents us from doing anything”, Ahmeti said in an interview for RTK.
He stressed that he has never evolved in Kosovo's elections, although he has friends and co-wars like LVV, both in the PDK or the AAK, as he has expressed confidence in his party's victory in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The “Kurti in Skopje said we do not participate and are not registered as political parties. If you decide to engage, participate in elections, ballot boxes are set up, and the results unfold in the evening. Currently, if we are called into studies and analysis, DUI is the winner of these elections even without holding them, and both Macedonian and Albanian political parties know that, as well as the Macedonian and Albanian opposition. I have never been disappointed by predictions and studies of real expertise. But time will prove”, Ahmeti added.
Asked whether Vetevendosje's de facto involvement in the North Macedonia elections will affect the election results, DUI leader has said” I don't think it could affect the result because the Albanian electorate is very defined in Macedonia”.
DUI leader added that it is not at odds with any political party in Kosovo, neither in Albania nor in Northern Macedonia, as long as it has insisted that Albanians in northern Macedonia do not need much.
“Albanians in northern Macedonia do not need 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 parties, because the more parties they are, then Albanians will be more insignificant”, Ahmeti underlined.
