Nezir Mehmetaj from the village of Rudica in Kline was arrested by Serbian police at the border checkpoint in Merdare in January 2020, under suspicion of committing war crimes during 1999 in his native village.
Four years later, Mehmetaj continues to be held in Serbian prisons while their justice continues to play games with his case.
Indexline sources suggest that the Serbian prosecution has continued detention of Mehmetaj until 24 February of this year.
Several court hearings have been held in this case and several witnesses have testified, but there is still no date for the outcome of the trial.
The value of expenses for the Mehmetaj family in pursuing the case is extremely high.
Kosovo Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu was asked through an official letter to Serbia's Justice Minister, Maja Popovic, the transfer of Nezir Mehmetaj to Kosovo.
But Serbia has never returned for the Kosovo side's request.
