The Special Prosecutor is considering request that Kurti testify in the case of Serb war crimes suspect

The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo has accepted the request through which the defendant D.M.'s defence lawyer. has proposed the prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Albin Kurti, to testify in the quality of witness”, Lutfiu said.
On the other hand, he said that this request would be analysed and examined as well as the constitutional provisions would be established, reports “The Justice Vow”.
The same request will be analysed and reviewed, and then conform legal provisions in force” will be carried out, Lutfiu said further.
Serbia's Dragisa Milenkovic, who was arrested on 21 June this year in Gracanica, is suspected of war crimes against the civilian population during the war period in Kosovo (1998-1999).
Otherwise, Kosovo Police (PK) had reported that the D.M., allegedly in co-ordination with other members, in quality of Pristina and Lipjan prison guards, have systematically exercised torture, physical violence, psychics, mistreatment and inhuman torture.
Kosovo's “Police, respectively, Directorate for Investigation of War Crimes (DHKL), in co-operation and authorisation of the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo, have conducted investigations concerning crimes committed during the war period in Kosovo (1998-1999), where through investigative-operative routes it has accepted information about Kosovo's male Serb suspect with initial (D. M.) as participants in these crimes. To the same has been provided evidence for the existence of reasonable suspicion that, in co-ordination with other members, during the Kosovo war period in quality of official persons (guards of prison) in Pristina and in the parallel shared by Pristina specifically in Lipjan prison, they have allegedly exercised torture, physical, psychic violence, inhuman and extreme abuse of life for Albanian prisoners<3>, the report said.
Otherwise, the Constitutional Court in Pristina, on 22 June, has appointed the detention measure during the 30-day duration of the D.M. suspects.
