Part of the opposition parties in the Serbian Parliament have accused the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq of the attack in northern Kosovo, where one Kosovo policeman and three suspected attackers were killed.
Serbian opposition party President Miroslav Aleksic, National Movement of Serbia, said on September 26th that Serbian President Vuciq and Deputy Chairman of the Serbian List Milan Radojic “are the main responsibilities for the bloodshed in Banjska” of Zvecan, the Beta agency broadcast.
Commenting on the video published on September 26th by Kosovo Interior Minister Xhelal Svechla, who claimed to show Radociqi at the Banjska monastery equipped with firearms, Aleksic said the Serbian List's policy, SNS and Vuciqi's approach to Kosovo suffered debacles.
After the armed conflict in Banjska, in which at least four people died, Vuciq must resign. Radojic has been unable to arm dozens of Serbs in the north without the knowledge and approval of Vuciqi and Serbian security services. These two mostly have responsibility for the shed blood in Banjsk”, Aleksic said.
The Serbian list is the main party of Serbs in Kosovo enjoying Belgrade's support, and Radoic is on the US blacklist because of corruption and international crime. His name is also linked to the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, an opposition politician in Kosovo.
So far, the Serbian List and Vuciq have publicly defended it. Vuciq has not commented on Radociqi's involvement in the attack on Kosovo Police in the north.
MP from the opposition subject, the pro-European Democratic Party, Srdjan Milivojevic, said Vuciq should resign because, in his statement, his one-day fight against Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, the Serbian leader sacrificed new Serbs in Kosovo.
Commenting on Svecla's accusations that Radociq led 30 Serbs who attacked police in the duquent Banjska, Milivojevicc said Radojic's participation in this tragic event “would not be a surprise”.
“If Radovici has participated in this event, then it is clear that the regime in Belgrade led by Aleksandar Vucinic stands behind everything. If Radoici or anyone else organised this thing without approval or order from Belgrade, he would already have been arrested or would have been the end of Vuciqi”, he said.
The leader of the right-wing opposition party, Dveri, Bosko Obradovic, asked the Serbian government to announce the number of those killed, wounded and arrested among Serbs in Kosovo.
He said it is the scandalous “” that power in Serbia is blaming Serbs in Kosovo.
Meanwhile, right-wing party leader New Democratic Party Milos Jovanovic said recent events in Kosovo show that the SNS government must change “destructive policies” in terms of Kosovo.
This is the end and this tragic situation shows that we must make substantial changes in Serbia. The government has to change because for 12 years in power and policies since 2008 have led to this”, he said.
A masked and armed group attacked the Kosovo Police in Zvecan Banjsk the Serb-inhabited majority area on September 24th, killing Sergeant Africa Bulnjak.
The armed group then fled to the Banjska monastery, where it continued the armed clash with the Kosovo Police.
Authorities in Kosovo said three attackers were killed and eight people were arrested.
Kosovo Minister of Internal Affairs Jedal Svecla has charged Milan Radojici, deputy head of the Serbian List ʹ the largest party of Serbs in Kosovo, with organising and participating in the attack.
On September 26th, Svechla published a video recording with fears, allegedly seeing Radoicici armed in Banjska.
The Serbian list ʹ the party that has Belgrade's support, nor the institutions in Serbia have reacted to Kosovo's alleged involvement in Radojici.
The attack has been condemned by the United States and the European Union.
