Prime Minister Edi Rama was welcomed today by the prime minister of the Republic of Italy, Giorgia Melon, within the framework of the high-level visit being held in Italy. The face-to-face meeting of Prime Minister Rama and Italian counterpart Melon at Palazzo Chigi was followed by a joint meeting between the two respective delegations.
Traditional Albania friendship Italy and the will to deepen excellent co-operation between the two countries, where there is great potential for doing much more, was unanimously reconfirmed even at this meeting.
Further strengthening of economic relations was another widely discussed topic at the meeting, where Italy as Albania's strategic partner has an extremely important role in this direction even through the growing presence of Italian enterprises in our country.
Also discussed during the meeting were investment opportunities Albania offers in many potential sectors, such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and especially tourism, which this year marked a real record of growth, becoming one of the most attractive areas for investment.
As for Albania's European integration, it was stressed at the meeting that Italy will continue to strongly support the process, in all its stages as yet.
Rama's visit to Italy comes a month and a half after the Italian prime minister was on vacation in Vlora in August. Earlier today, within this visit was the second meeting of the Joint Investment Committee, Economic and Social Affairs, Albania-Italy.
