Rama calls President Osmani's nomination for Association a positive step

Rama, at a media conference, said he does not know what the internationals' opinion of this request is, but that Osman's request is a positive step in Kosovo's proper direction.

He said that a draft of association, within the constitutional framework of the Republic of Kosovo, should be put on the table as soon as possible.

I am pleased that President Osmani has publicly requested US assistance with the draft association. I don't know what the Kosovo and Albanian strategic allies' view of this demand is, but essentially the Kosovo President's request is positive and is a positive step at last in the right direction on Kosovo's part. A draft of the association of Serb majority municipalities, within the constitutional framework of the Republic of Kosovo, should be put on the table an hour and earlier.”, Rama said.

Otherwise, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said Kosovo should, along with the United States, prepare the draft for the Association of Serb-run municipalities statute.

I think the solution is the following: We must sit with the US, prepare our draft, the draft of the Republic of Kosovo. Initially [only with the US], I think that's how it is, to sit with our partners in the United States, to introduce to US Secretary of State [Antony Blinken] our draft, which is in line with the Constitutional Court's Constitutional Court, in accordance with [the former head of EU diplomacy, Federica] letter. The Mogher who guarantees that there will be no executive competency and in line with the American written stance in the [written] opinion by [the top adviser of] UN, Derek] Chollet and [ Washington's envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel] Escobar explaining that such a body will be a co-ordinating body, without executive competence”, Osmani said.
