The Racch-Prizren Diocesa has said the situation at the Banjska Monastery is currently calm and that armed persons have left the monastery.
Dioceza pointed out that they have observed the presence of Kosovo Police and EULEX in front of the entrance gate and in the monastery courtyard.
“The Diocese of Race-Prizren announces the opinion that the situation at the Banjsca Monastery is currently calm, although fear of current events is still felt in both the suburb and the monastery's own gate. Armed men who infiltrated today have been removed from the monastery, and the presence of the Kosovo Police and EULEX is currently being noted in front of the gate and in the monastery's courtyard”, the announcement said.
“In the monastery dormitory is still with his brothers, as well as a group of believers from Novi Sad, including two minor children. The Monastery Directorate reports that everyone at the moment is well”.
