Prosecutor Bashkim Zeqaj, simultaneously co-ordinator for dealing with journalists' cases, on the “Tempus” show at KTV, said that by 2022 until August of this year, five charges have been filed in cases where journalists are injured, while stressing that these cases are handled with priorities. “Foundation Procurory, Prosecutorial System Treats [...]

“Foundation Procurory, the prosecutorial system deals with them as priorities because this is also regulated with a decision by the chief state prosecutor since 2017 and all cases dealing with journalists treated throughout the prosecutorial system are handled at a priority”, Zeqaj said.

The same said that acts committed to journalists are part of criminal acts against life and the body.

“also, I would like to stress that the acts committed to journalists are part of the criminal acts against life and body, and those and those cases necessarily require that they be treated soon”, Zeqaj said.

Also, the prosecutor said that between 2022 and August 2023, 5 charges have been filed over cases against journalists.

We only have 3 reported cases by August 2023, so we have 2 cases with criminal charges, and one case we have a separate report, these 2 cases with criminal charges I want to inform you that they've ended up in indictment. Also, the cases we've had under discussion from 2022 on now we have a total of 5 acts only until August 2023, that is, even last year's cases, we have 5 counts as Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina”, Zeqaj said. /A Vow for Justice
