Although among the most dangerous as a job, Kosovo police still have no health insurance.

Many have been the promises of an improved state of police work, promising health and life insurance. Such promises included Kurti, who often risked Kosovo police officers, sending them to operations in the country's north without co-ordinating with international security actors.

But, as the prime minister was doing so today, he wrote that thanks to police officials they have managed as Government to fight crime and corruption.

“As the Government of the Republic of Kosovo we have pledged to fight crime, corruption and any illegality that violates the security of our country and our citizens, and I am grateful that on this journey for more than two years, we have achieved success thanks to dedicated and professional police officials throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo. Over 1100 operations carried out, 100 crime groups destroyed, over 2,200kg of confiscated narcotics substance, 16 drug labs destroyed, are successes that the Kosovo Police have ranked among the most reliable institutions for our citizens, while our Republic has set up on the lists of serious and dedicated states for the fight of criminality.”, Kurti wrote.

Full Posting:

Kosovo police today mark the 24th anniversary of its establishment. “24 years in service and in defense” is the motto of this anniversary, which best represents our police. Since the first generation of police officers began training on September 6, 1999, our police served all our citizens defending their lives and property and preserving our country's sovereignty.

As the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, we have pledged to fight crime, corruption and any illegality that affects the security of our country and our citizens, and I am grateful that on this journey for more than two years, we have achieved success thanks to dedicated and professional police officials throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo. Over 1100 operations carried out, 100 crime groups destroyed, over 2,200kg of confiscated narcotics substance, 16 drug labs destroyed, are successes that the Kosovo Police have ranked among the most reliable institutions for our citizens, while our Republic has placed on lists of serious and dedicated states in combating crime.

All police officials who today are in charge of duty in every corner of the Republic of Kosovo wish them a 24th anniversary of the establishment of the police. Together we share challenges and successes, together we will build and strengthen our country even more.
