Police: Ten Arrested for Misusing Bank Cards

Ten people have been arrested in Kosovo under suspicion of misusing bank folders and interfering with computer systems.

Kosovo police said that after several months of investigation, on September 19th, they conducted searches at 14 locations in Pristina, Gjilan Ferizaj, Kacanik, Drenas, Suhareka and Decani.

“During today's police operation, ten people have been arrested, under suspicion that they are involved in criminal acts: launching checks without cover or false and misusing bank or credit folders and access to computer systems”, the report said.

According to rule authorities, those arrested allegedly used bank folders without authorization by making transactions, withdrawing money from ATMs, and buying various items, with bank cards which, “, have arrived in various forms of compromising”.

The financial institutions [banks] in Kosovo with thousands of euros” have been damaged in this case, the report said.
During the raids, according to the police, various evidence has been seized, including computers, mobile phones, USB, bank cards, documents, as well as three weapons and ammunition.

In Kosovo 12 commercial banks operate, nine of which are foreign-owned.
