The rocket that fell in November 2022 in the Polish village of Przewow, near the Ukrainian border, killing two people, was Ukrainian and not Russian, Poland's justice ministry confirmed on Thursday.
The rocket fell near a school, just six kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
“The investigation by Polish prosecutors led to the unanimous conclusion that the missile was Ukrainian”, Zbigniew said. Ziobro, Poland's Attorney General. “Taking into account where it was fired and from which military unit, there was a Ukrainian missile”, he added, clarifying that the missile was “soviet, Russian production”.
Ziobro at the same time expressed his regret because the monthly “has no co-operation in the case” on Kiev's side.
The fall of the rocket in the village raised concerns about a possible escalation of the war in Ukraine, with NATO involvement, whose member is Poland.
Ziobro did not want to blame anyone for this episode. However, the far-right anti-European and anti-Ukrainian party demanded that Kiev be required to pay <x0reparations”.
