Minister Svechla is exploiting Burdush's luxury car “Range Rover”

Three cars were confiscated from the state.

A Range Rover jeep, a Renault Megane RFB and an Audi A7 are luxury cars that the state took from the popular doctor, Hysri Peqani .

The LAND-type Range Rover vehicle seized by the Agency for Secuested or Confirmed Riches Management is being exploited by Interior Minister Jedal Svechla and his ministry for their needs.

From the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MPB) have confirmed that they have the aforementioned car used and that it is being used for the needs of the Ministry.

They in a response to Front Online have shown that they lack cars and applied to the Agency for the Property Management or Confiscated for Two Cars, but the request has only been approved for one car.

“MPB due to lack of cars, called from the Agency two cars, and our request has been approved for a car that is already in use by the Ministry, according to the previous legal provisions”, said in response.

From this, the minister says that in the same form other confiscated cars are given to various state institutions.

“Malts, which are seized by the Agency for the Management of Secuested and Confiscated Property, Benefited by various criminal acts, organised crime, smuggling, etc., after sequestation are given to various institutions, according to the institution's need and demand. In the same form, the majority of cars which have been seized for use to the Kosovo Police, the ministries as well as various institutions, depending on the requirements and needs”, it is further said in the MPB response.

The answer has not been returned by the Agency for the Management of Secuested and Confiscated Even though these two have been requested through an e-mail request that questions be addressed through the Office for Communication at the Ministry of Justice.

Under current laws, confiscating property means the permanent acquisition of property that has been illegally acquired, according to the order of the formal form by the competent court or other competent body, while sequentiality implies obtaining property from the competent body until the court's firm decision.

In Kosovo since 2018, there is the Law for Expanded Capacity to confiscated property acquired by criminal acts.

Under this law, the prosecutor must testify that the property listed for verification is the property of the defendant, while the defendant must testify that he has benefited with legitimate resources for which he must offer evidence, on the contrary, it is confiscated by the court.

Hysri Peqani, known as “Burdushi”, has not yet gone to prison sentence because from the Constitutional Court in Pristina on January 10, 2023, he was sentenced to a unique sentence of 4 years and 6 months in prison and 42 thousand euros in fines over the illegal exercise of medical or pharmaceutical activity, fraud, money laundering and illegal weapons, and which sentence on June 30, 2023 had confirmed the Court of Appeals.

The Constitutional Court in Pristina on 21 August 2023 has ordered “Burdushin” since 18 September 2023, until 12 o'clock, to appear at the Kosovo Republic of Kosovo's Correct Service, at the Pristina Centre for Pre-prisonment, to begin holding prison sentences.

In this ordinance, it is said that if the convict does not act according to the ordinance, respectively if he does not appear in the detention institution, the court will issue a ban warrant and strongly submit to the punishment.
