Albania's President Bajram Begaj during his stay in New York, on the 78th General Session of the General Assembly of the General Nations, met with EU Special Envoy for Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak.
The president assured Lajcak that Albania remains determined to continue to play its role in de-passing the tense situation between the two countries and returning to the dialogue table.
Otherwise, the latest round of dialogue in Brussels, on September 14th, between Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, ended without progress in normalising relations.
It was the first meeting between Vuciqi and Kurti following the outbreak of violence in northern Kosovo at the end of May.
Kurti said that in Brussels she proposed a plan for implementing the Bazic Agreement and its Annex.
This agreement does not include the mutual recognition for which Kosovo insists, but requires Kosovo and Serbia to accept each other's documents and symbols, including passports, diplomas and license plates. The parties also pledge to implement agreements reached earlier in the dialogue process.
