Mazrek: Emergency to Force Workers' Security to Builder

In recent years some workers in Kosovo have lost their lives in their jobs. A worker has lost his life Monday in Pristina, the worker has fallen from a height while working. The director of the Kosovar Bureau of Security (BKS), Sami Mazrek, said that the lack of mandatory insurance at jobs in Kosovo is a problem that can be resolved very easily, but determination is needed on the part of Kosovo institutions. Mazrek said that providing workers should be obliged by law and other acts.

In an interview given at RTK, he suggested that he previously delivered letters to Kosovo mayors, who under construction permits issued for construction companies, will also be obliged to buy a security policy for workers, which would be a guarantee for workers' safety. Director Mazreku suggested he is willing to discuss with institutional actors to find solutions for workers in the construction sector so that they can be secured.
