The Kosovo Special Prosecutor has approved the war crimes suspect's request, Dragisa Milenkovic, for Prime Minister Albin Kurti to be interviewed in the quality of the witness.
Lawyer Dejan Vasic officially announced Kurt on Tuesday, even turning in the questions he plans to pose.
While the whole process, according to him, could last less than an hour.
And since the prosecution has approved Prime Minister Albin Kurti's hearing request in the quality of the witness, today I have submitted a new request through which I have informed the prime minister that the special prosecutor has approved the request to be invited as a witness, and I have left my records, if I need to meet with the prime minister for the content of his testimony. I have even handed in questions that are important to me to be answered by the witness, and I think the interview could last about 15 minutes”, Vasic said.
The lawyer for the war crimes suspect in Pristina and the Lipjan prison expects Kurti to respond positively to the invitation to testify about events he claims are linked to his client.
“We have not received answers so far, it has been vacation time and probably the prime minister has not been available, but I expect to receive answers on this, as it is an urgent matter, it is about the detention issue of the suspect”, Vasic said.
According to lawyer Dejan Vasic, Kurti as a prisoner at that time could testify to the innocence of Dragisa Milenkovic, who was arrested in June this year, and allegedly during the war, in the quality of the official person in Pristina prison and in that of Lipjan, has committed war crimes against the civilian population.
The prime minister's office has not confirmed during the day how Prime Minister Kurti will act in this case, which during the month had told television that for any official request, the Prosecution as well as defence will be given answers. /atv
