Kosovo Police: One of the attackers was killed.

Police have announced that one of the attackers in Zvecan Banisksk has been killed.

Through a communique released to the media, police have said the situation in the country's north is continuing to be tense.

The situation in the country's north, namely in the Banjska village area, continues to be tense, criminal groups are at times attacking police units on the ground with fire, which, despite attacks on them, continue to be committed by establishing security perimeter, in the interest of calming the situation, providing security and rule of order and law in Kosovo.

Pro assaulters in considerable numbers, disguised and uniformed in various uniforms, armed with heavy weapons, grenades, military vehicles (zollas), several armoured vehicles, are exploiting various private spaces and objects, including in and around the Banjska monastery, to carry out movements, shelters and positioning for shooting at PK police units.

Police units that confirm the situation and the danger manifested by the sporadic attacks of criminal groups, in their own self-defence and the citizens of the area, have been forced to counter criminal groups, referring to so far information, one of the attackers has been killed.

Reference to the situation and the circumstances created, Kosovo Police for security reasons have closed the two border crossings in the north (Jerinje and Brnjak) for border flow, so it invites all citizens to exploit other border crossings for circulation, as well as to avoid their exits and movements in that region/zone.

The co-operation and co-ordination of the Kosovo Police with competent local and international institutions is ongoing, with the goal of maintaining order and public security, as well as bringing justice to the perpetrators of ongoing attacks on police officials and simultaneously inviting them to surrender to the law bodies.
