The United States Embassy in Kosovo has strongly condemned orchestrated and violent attacks on Kosovo Police on Sunday morning, saying the authors of this attack must and will be held accountable.

The embassy's response reportedly has full responsibility and is legitimate for implementing rule of law under the Constitution and Kosovo laws.

“We recognise and respect its role as the first response to emergency situations and crises. We assess the continued co-ordination between the Kosovo Police, the EU Mission for Rule of Law in Kosovo and the NATO Force in Kosovo (KFOR), in the case of”, says the Embassy's response.

It further becomes known that the situation is being monitored closely and that violent acts against the legitimate authorities of the Republic of Kosovo are being condemned.

“Autors must and will be held accountable and brought to justice. They must stop their attacks immediately. On behalf of the United States, I express my deep condolences for the death of Kosovo Police Sergeant, who was killed at the helm of the post. I also convey my congratulations on quick recovery for the two injured officers”, the announcement said.
