Hasani: Borrell's proposal in line with his mandate, Kurti's refusal brings other sanctions

International Law and Relations Professor Enver Hasani has commented on clashes in Kosovo relationship - The EU and Prime Minister Kurti's refusal to accept Borrell's proposal for implementation of the agreement. Hasan says the High Representative has done something that is in line with his mandate for what the agreement of the parties [...] has been.
Hasan says the High Representative has done something that is in line with his mandate for what the parties' reconciliation in Ohrid has done. According to Hasani, what the prime minister is doing is unilateral and unacceptable resistance.
“The difference is fundamental. What Borrell did was in his mandate, and for that there has been reconciliation of the parties in Ohrid. What Kurt has done is resistance to the implementation of international pledges taken over in the name of Kosovo with free will. Kurti's approach is unilateral and unacceptable, because international obligations undertaken cannot be changed unilaterally, nor can they leave their implementation arbitraryly“, Hasani said, in an interview for Gazeta Express.
The former head of the Constitutional Court says rejection of the implementation plan that now became the official position of the EU will bring Kosovo new sanctions. However, Hasan in all this sees a Kurt game dedicated to his voters Kurti is gradually implementing the pledges he has taken over in the name of Kosovo, as fatal as they are.
