Green: In the State Department, they're very frustrated with Albin Kurt.

President Trump's former father for Kosovo-Serbia talks Richard Green in an interview for T7 has commented on the September 14th meeting in Brussels. He says both sides are guilty of failing to progress, but points out that the international community is unique in Kurt's actions in the North
The two sides are guilty, there is no doubt about it. But now the international community is united that Albin Kurti has taken uniform action in the north. I think the Germans, the French, the Europeans in general, have seen KFOR, NATO forces, the administration of Joe Biden, the White House, the State Department, all have condemned Albin Kurt for his actions in the north. He is not making good decisions to create an atmosphere of peace. I was in the northern part, urging Serbs to support the idea that Kosovo police officers who were arrested and held should be released. I don't think it was a good move to create an atmosphere of peace. So we saw them released and I think it's a good thing. But the international community was clear that we should not have special units, we may have police patrolling the northern area, but you cannot send special units that circulate around municipal buildings in Kosovo. That is what the international community said, including NATO forces. They asked Mr. The cure for right away making real choices there, not false choices made. It's not done. We know that for years numerous agreements have been made on the creation of the Serbian Communist Association. This has not been done, so Albin Kurti has changed Kosovo's reputation on the international stage. I know there are many people in Kosovo who love Albin Kurt and I like his message against corruption and the cleansing of the Kosovo government, there is a lot of corruption in the Balkans, and I like that aspect. I like it talking about youth involvement. And of course we've seen a lot of young people involved. But no doubt, Albin Kurti has taken uniform action that has brought condemnation from the international community as never before. Kosovo has always been a unique friend to the United States, but to have condemnation from Joe Biden's State Department and Democrats, to have condemnation from the White House and Joe Biden and Democrats to a Kosovo leader is unprecedented and all unique, and the people of Kosovo must understand that the June 3rd declaration that the international community made, calling on Albin Kurti to stop uniform actions and take specific steps... he has not done so, and will have consequences. I hear this over and over again by the State Department and the people working there are very frustrated with Albin Kurtin”, he said.
He told TV 7:
I think the first good news is that the Joe Biden Administration, when it came to power after President Trump, hosted the agreements and said these are good things, so this was a big step, as now both parties, Republicans and Democrats, welcomed these agreements as a positive step. It was a truly important step, and it is certainly good for the people of Kosovo to have the support of the Republicans and Democrats for progress in economic normalisation. I think that the reason for this was the agreement we negotiated a one-year-old mortorium, so Kosovo would not try for a year to seek out any international organisation or country to support its independence and at the same time there would be no de-legisation campaign by the government of Serbia. They would not demand that people no longer recognise Kosovo. So, we'd do a one-year ban. The vision was that during this first year, we needed to make much progress. The first year was truly important. But the Joe Biden Administration appointed no person to oversee this agreement. There were no individuals appointed by the State Department, no individuals appointed by the Presidency to oversee this. And so, I think that was a problem. When the Joe Biden Administration ignored Kosovo, Serbia and the entire Balkan region, we really saw a lack of political will because there was no pressure. Joe Biden's position was that Europe and Brussels should take the leadership and the US should step back. I think this is a terrible idea for the people of Kosovo and Serbia and for the entire region for the US to say publicly that they will no longer be leaders in these negotiations. I think that people who attend this interview all realise there are many words from the Europeans and the EU, but not many actions. Americans bring action, we're more impatient. We push both sides to do things. When Joe Biden decides not to take care of the region and pull back and let the Europeans take the lead, I think we've seen in the last three years that it's been a disaster”, says Green.
