Kosovo's government in a response Saturday evening has called for Serbia's immediate withdrawal of all troops from the border with Kosovo. In response, it is known that Serbia has established military capacities at 48 front bases near the border with Kosovo, and that antiaircraft systems and heavy artillery have also been deployed.
The government of the Republic of Kosovo with attention and vigilance is following recent developments regarding the movement of Serbia's Armed Forces military units towards the border line with the Republic of Kosovo.
The Serbian Army's movements are made from three different directions; the second Serbian Army Brigade units have moved from Raska's direction towards our country's northern border; the units of the Serbian Army's Third Brigade have moved from the Nis Regiment to the north-East border of our country and the fourth Brigade units have moved from the Vranjen Region to the eastern border of the Republic of Kosovo.
Serbia's military units during yesterday have established their military and gendarmerie capacities through the 48 operational front bases, which are extended along the border line with the Republic of Kosovo, few miles deep in Serbia's territory. The location includes the establishment of anti-aircraft systems and heavy artillery.
Many times we have raised concerns about the existence of these 48 front bases of the Serbian Army and gendarmerie, and stressed the fact, now proven that these bases serve to support possible military aggression against the Republic of Kosovo.
We call on President Vuciq and Serbia's institutions to immediately withdraw all troops from the border line with Kosovo and close and deilitarise the 28 front military bases and 20 gendarmerie bases that for our country pose permanent threats.
Following the failure of armed attack with pre-military formations led by Milan Radojic, the march and deployment of Serb military troops along the border with Kosovo is the next step of Serbia's institutions to threaten the territorial integrity of our country and also the international military presence in the Republic of Kosovo.
The institutions of the Republic of Kosovo in co-ordination with international partners are more determined than ever to protect, at any cost, sovereignty, constitutional order, public order and the lives of the citizens of our country.
