EU says for the first time: terrorist attack took place in Kosovo on Sunday

EU spokesman Peter Stano said today that the EU's position is that what happened in Banjska on Sunday is a terrorist act and showed that all those responsible for that attack must be brought to justice and bear responsibility for it. “We need to be sure it's been investigated [...]
We need to be sure that it was fully investigated, not only those who carried out the attack, but also those who participated in any other way should be held accountable. We have to make sure that justice is achieved for those who planned, those who stay behind. This is the position of the EU, which has been repeated several times”, Stano said at the press conference.
He stressed that the EU will not comment on everyone's statements and remarks from the region every day.
“The EU was clear in all the statements and in the high representative's statement, the joint declaration of Union members, individual members, what are the expectations of the Union dealt with by both sides were told what should be done immediately, because what happened Sunday is very serious, but the way the EU works is not to comment on every single remark and movement in the development of events after what happened Sunday<1>, he said.
Stano reiterated that the EU is not engaged through public and media.
If we have something to tell the partners, we tell them directly. This we expect from others, including interpretation of the agreement or the way the investigation is conducted. We will not be involved in the investigation through the public and media that is irresponsible and cannot help the investigation. It must be revealed what happened, punish those responsible”, he points out.
The EU is largely involved in the investigation, Stano says, and adds that they co-operate with partners in the region as well as with international partners.
As he adds, the EU will provide relevant answers when member states decide that the moment has come.
