The deputy head of the European Union Office co-operation section (BE) in Kosovo, Alessandro Biancoard, has declared that sanctions imposed by the EU for Kosovo will be removed after the government moves to reinforce the situation in the north, in line with the EU recommendation.
He at the Ministry of Economy's conference, in the case of launching “public calling for subsidising efficient heating equipment”, financed by the European Union (BE), has said political stability is key to ensuring Kosovo's prosperity.
The current political situation calls on all of us to focus on the expansion in the north. In this context, the EU has adopted a set of measures to make clear a message and has suspended the provision for new financial assistance to Kosovo”, Benard stressed.
He has said he will stress that this is a returnal step and that the full degree of EU financial assistance and political engagement for Kosovo will resume as soon as the government acts in line with the EU's recommendation for extension of the situation in the north.
“We sincerely hope that we will be able to leave all of this behind very soon and return to our focus, in reforms that are critical of Kosovo's approach to the EU”, he has continued. /kpress/
