The EU for the arrests of Serbs for war crimes: Monitoring the situation, contact with authorities in Kosovo

The European Union is in contact with authorities in Pristina to get all information about the recent arrests of Serbs in northern Kosovo, charged with committing war crimes. “We are monitoring the situation and we are in close contact with the authorities in Kosovo, to discover everything about development [...]
“We are monitoring the situation and we are in close contact with the authorities in Kosovo, to find out everything about the further development of the situation, and we will react if necessary”, said EU spokesman Peter Stano
Asked by a journalist, he added that the EU does not contest Kosovo's right to prosecute war crimes, but has declined to comment further on the case.
He has also reiterated that the path towards normalising relations between the two sides is completely clear and in the journalists' repeated question of establishing a Serb municipality community has said it is the “international obligations Kosovo has taken over by itself”
“Puna in the establishment of Serbian Communists' Associations/Unitors must continue without delay and conditions. Like, in what way and in what form this will be discussed within dialogue, which is a platform for solving problems. So everything should be done within dialogue and not outside it, publicly or mediatically”, Stano said.
Stano says the process to achieve peace is well known.
The EU's “expectations for this were expressed earlier this week in a joint statement signed by all 27 member states that work should begin without any delay or preconditions,” said Stano.
