EMIGRATION: Over half a million Kosovars in Germany

) In the 12-year period, 2010 2022, there is an increase of 251 thousand or 86% more people with migration backgrounds from Kosovo to Germany.
Job market data in Germany shows that, of the 264 thousand active people with the background migration from Kosovo, 251 thousand are employed (160 thousand men and 91 thousand women), while 13 thousand are unemployed (eight thousand men and five thousand women).
The data from general education shows that the number of people who own high school degrees is greater than those who don't have such degrees. The same is not true of professional qualifications, where the number of people who do not have professional qualifications is significantly greater than those who have such qualifications.
- Data from 2017 to 2022 shows that the main reasons for migration to Germany for all Kosovo-born persons are primarily family union and asylum-search. In 2022, 110 thousand people claimed that the family union is the main reason for their migration; 85 thousand people claimed that the main reason is the escape, asylum-seek and international protection; 64,000 people declared employment as a reason, while another 41,000 fled to raise families.
In 2021 alone, 21,487 people have entered from Kosovo to Germany, and 4,323 people of origin from Kosovo have left Germany, where net migration this year was 17,164 people./Periscopi
