Disappointing: Only 31 wanderers have been adopted so far in Pristina

This municipality project was launched on August 28th, where at one time it was said that 12 people have expressed interest in adopting wanderers, however, because of their situation at the ceremony organised by the municipality, only two people were seen signing the contracts.
The director for Security and Emergency, Lulzim Fushtica, has announced that so far 31 were wandering people were adopted, within the framework of the 50-euro-month subsidy project for fans. He says there are five other requirements pending, to adopt more than five were, until he indicated that they are doing the inspection of whether they meet the preset conditions to become owners of these dogs.
Fushtage for The KP argued that on the basis of recommendations from the Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV), for adopting more than two dogs from one person, the country should be inspected to make sure there is fulfillment of the conditions for the welfare of adopted dogs.
“From the start of the campaign to adopt wandering dogs, the capital has signed 31 individual adoption contracts. We have at least five more applications for adoption for more than five were, and we are doing the inspection of whether they meet the preset conditions for adoption. Based on recommendations by AUVK (Kosovo Food and Veterinary Agency) adoptions more than two were to be inspected the country to ensure the fulfillment of conditions for the well-being of adopted dogs”, the potential Fushtica.
The Pristina municipality has announced that citizens expressing interest in adopting dogs will be subsidised by 50 euros each month, and can adopt up to five dogs if they meet the previous conditions.
Meanwhile, it has been warned that there will be fines in the event of mistreatment of dogs taken for adoption.
By contrast, Pristina chairman Progress Rama has said that over a million euros have been earmarked for the treatment of wandering dogs.
