Board RTK suspends RTK2 director Zelko Trudish

The Kosovo Radio Television Board (RTK), at an extraordinary meeting held on September 30th 2023, following an assessment of the reporting that was made in RTK over the tragic event of the terrorist attack by Serb paramilitary formations, in which a Kosovo policeman was killed, has taken some important measures to correct the violations of professional reporting standards.

“After a detailed discussion and an analysis of the situation about the chronicst broadcast in RTK2 (Serbian language channel) news with September 28th 2023, following proposal by the general director, the Board RTK has unanimously decided on suspension from office for a 30-day term by RTK2 director Zelko Trudish”, said the RTK communiqué.

According to RTK, this measure has been taken in line with law and regulations in force.

“over this period, the RTK management will conduct a detailed analysis of the situation and the general reporting in order to identify all possible violations of professional standards and take appropriate measures to correct. Also, other disciplinary measures will be taken against all individuals involved in professional reporting violations and who are defined in the laws and regulations under which RTK” operates, it is said further.

The chairman of the RTK Board with September 24th through an e-mail has requested from the general director and therefore from all entities to have increased caution and vigilance in relation to the situation, as well as to report professionally.
