Albanian President Bajram Begaj, in New York where the United Nations Assembly is being held, has used this to seek recognition of Kosovo's independence from the countries that have still done so.

Begaj recently announced that he met with counterparts from Botswana, Kenya and South Sudan, and in focus had official recognition of Kosovo.

“Under the UN Summit Week, I met with my counterparts from Botswana, Kenya and South Sudan. While promoting good bilateral relations is important, my main focus was official recognition of the Republic of Kosovo by these states”, he wrote.
