Everywhere bad figures for Kosovo, export marks 20% decline

According to data published by the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) export of goods in August 2023 was worth 67.3m euros, while import 523.1m euros. According to the AKS, this represents a 20.7% drop for export, as well as 0.7% for import, compared to the same period in 2022.
The data from Kosovo's Foreign Trade and Goods shows a higher trade deficit for 3.1% in August 2023, in proportion to the same period in 2022, worth 455.8m euros, compared to the deficit 441.9m euros in 2022. Export covers import by 12.9%”, the AKS report said.
According to key export groups data: 21.7% make up the various products produced; 19,1% make up the basic metals and articles; 13.7% make up prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 12.3% make up plastics, tires and products of 5,4% make up plant products.
While, according to key group data for import: 16.9% make up mineral products; 12.6% make up prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 10.8% make up machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 10.3% make up the basic metals and articles; 9.4% make up the means of transport; 6.0% make up chemical industry products and 5.9% make up the textile and its articles.
The KSF has also published Kosovo's export and imports data with EU countries.
Kosovo's <x0ports in EU countries reached 20.6m euros, or about 30.7% of total exports, with a drop of (-33,4%). The main partners for export of goods to the EU were: Germany (12.3%), Italy (3.3%), the Netherlands (3.2%), etc. Kosovo imports from EU countries were around 217.0m euros, or 41.5% of total imports, with an increase of 1.8%. Imports with higher turnout were from: Germany (11.8%), Greece (6.0%), Italy (4.4%), etc.”, is said to be reporting the AKS.
The value of Kosovo exports and imports with CEFTA countries has also been presented.
Kosovo's <x0ports with CEFTA countries reached 26.7m euros, or 39.8% of total exports, with a drop of (-17.1%). The main export partners were: Albania (14.3%), Northern Macedonia (13.4%), Montenegro (5,4%), Serbia (5,2%). While, imports from CEFTA countries reached 73.2m euros, or 14.0% of total imports, with a drop of (26.8%). The countries with the highest share in import was: Albania (5.5%), North Macedonia (4.5%), Serbia (2.1%)”, says the ASS report.
The AKS has also presented Kosovo's export and imports data with other countries in the world.
Kosovo's <x0mports with other countries of the world reached 19.9m euros, or 29.6%. As more important partners from these countries for export were: US (15.9%) and Switzerland (8.5%). While Kosovo's imports with other countries of the world reached 232.8m euros, or 44.5%. The countries with the highest share in import in this group were: Turkey (13.0%) and China (12.7%)”, the ASS report said.
